Your guide to Comic-Con is Dr. Matthew J. Smith, professor in the Department of Communication at Wittenberg University. He is a frequent attendee of Comic-Con and led groups of students there in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Dr. Smith also teaches "Graphic Storytelling" and "The Graphic Novels of Alan Moore" at Wittenberg University and is co-author of textbooks titled The Power of Comics and Critical Approaches to Comics. He has spoken and written about comics and a number of popular culture phenomena including reality television and the World Wide Web. In 2009, Wittenberg University's Alumni Association recognized him with their Distinguished Teaching Award.

He is also Past President of the Ohio Communication Association.
